About the Samurai:

Okita Souji was a famous samurai, and a captain of the first unit in the Shinsengumi. He was said to be one of the best swordsmen in the Shinsengumi. Throughout his time serving in the Shinsengumi, he was said to have been close to Hijikata, almost like brothers, but there is no records of this being so. he was also the second to Sannan Keisuke's seppuku. Okita, being incredibly skilled with the katana, also came up with his own technique, sandazuki, which roughly translates into 'three point thrust' which would attack the opponents neck, and both shoulders in one movement. Okita came down with tuberculosis, which many believe is what led him to an early death.
