About Uesugi Kenshin

Uesugi Kenshin (1530–1578) was one of the most powerful and respected warlords of Japan's Sengoku period. Born Nagao Kagetora, he belonged to the Nagao clan and later became the adopted heir of Uesugi Norimasa, allowing him to assume leadership of the Uesugi clan.

After his father's death, Kenshin devoted himself to education and military affairs from a young age. He eventually became the head of the Nagao clan and expanded his influence across the region.

Kenshin is particularly famous for his long-running rivalry with Takeda Shingen, which led to the legendary Battles of Kawanakajima. He also came into conflict with other major Sengoku figures, including Oda Nobunaga.
