Iaido is the art of Japanese Swordsmanship. The word itself has a number of meanings and interpretations. Each is dependent on a subjective translation as the word itself like many Japanese martial concepts do not translate into English at all easily. The word is comprised of 3 Japanese characters: i-ai-do. The purpose of Iaido training is the development of self, not only in physical but also in the moral and spiritual term.

∴ About Minamoto Kiyomaro:

Minamoto Kiyomaro his real name was Yamaura Kuranosuke Tamaki and his first name as a swordsmith was Ikkansai Masayuki. Masayuki went to Edo and began sword making under Kubota Sugane. Who was known as a famous Gungakusha (military strategist). After he completed only one of the one hundred buki-ko he ranaway to Choshu before he starts the second one. Later he returns to Edo and apologized to Kubota Sugane and with his support he settled down in Yotsuya Iga-cho, where he sets up his workshop. At 42 years old he commits an honorable death. Yet his swords live on thru the Ages.
