Inspired by the legendary Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, the Yamanbagiri Kunihiro Value Katana is a decorative Japanese-style sword designed to capture the distinctive appearance and proportions of a traditional katana. Featuring a zinc-alloy blade and black yarn-wrapped handle, it offers an attractive choice for collectors and enthusiasts looking for a Japanese-style katana for display.
Yamanbagiri Kunihiro is associated with Horikawa Kunihiro, a renowned swordsmith of the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1568–1600). According to the traditional story, Kunihiro created a blade based on the famous Yamanbagiri, a sword associated with the legend of a mountain witch known as a Yamanba. The name combines Yamanba with kiri/giri, meaning "to cut," while Kunihiro refers to the swordsmith.
Produced in Seki, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, this decorative katana combines traditional Japanese sword aesthetics with an accessible price point.
