About Maeda Keiji
Maeda Keiji, also known as Maeda Toshimasu, was a renowned samurai associated with the Maeda clan during Japan's Sengoku period.
Adopted into the Maeda family at a young age, Keiji eventually served alongside his uncle, Maeda Toshiie, and became connected to Oda Nobunaga's powerful military forces.
Keiji later formed a close friendship with Uesugi Kanetsugu and fought alongside the Uesugi army in several campaigns. Although he eventually withdrew from military life and devoted himself to arts and literature, his connection with the Uesugi remained strong. Whenever the Uesugi forces faced serious danger, Keiji was willing to return and fight alongside them.
His reputation as an unconventional and fearless samurai has made Maeda Keiji one of the most recognizable figures of Japan's samurai history.
Traditional Japanese Design
Japanese hand fans have a long history as both functional accessories and decorative works of art. Traditional fan designs often feature historical figures, nature, landscapes, and other elements of Japanese culture.
The Maeda Keiji design combines traditional Japanese artistic style with the legacy of a famous samurai, making this fan an attractive choice for collectors and enthusiasts of Japanese history.
