About Maeda Keiji

Maeda Keiji, also known as Maeda Toshimasu, was a renowned samurai associated with the turbulent Sengoku period of Japanese history. He was adopted into the Maeda family at a young age and later served alongside his uncle, Maeda Toshiie, during the era of Oda Nobunaga.

Keiji became particularly known for his powerful warrior reputation and distinctive personality. He later developed a close friendship with Uesugi Kanetsugu and joined the Uesugi forces, participating in several military campaigns.

Although Keiji eventually withdrew from active military life and devoted himself to arts, literature, and culture, his loyalty to the Uesugi clan remained strong. Historical accounts and later stories portray him as a formidable warrior who was willing to return to battle whenever the Uesugi forces needed his support.
